The greatest man alive...

VIDEO FOOTAGE!!!

Boston Wins!...

because of this...

Fun fact...

Michael Chabon re-wrote Spider Man 2. Pretty cool.

Ooga Booga...

It is a laid back chill out engagement BBQ that will be happening on Oct. 30 in Whittier. The festivities are to start around 5:00. BBQ, chips, brews, creepy movies, good records, and fond memories are to be had. Dress up as your favorite friend who is engaged... or any other Halloween friend. Don't be late, be great! Call me... Jesse, or the Keith, for more info.

It's Official...

A dual Karen-Keith, Robyn, Jesse "Gettin' Hitched" party is set for Oct. 30. Real informal fun time BBQ is all it is. Either in Whittier at the house located directly next to the real life working crack house or in the LBC. To be a time filled with BBQ, Adoradtion, Making-out, Beers, and the following "spook-films;" Evil Dead, Exorcist, and the origional Dawn of the Dead. Hold on to your hats and jackets...cuz there's more!! (drum roll please) You can dress yerselves up!!! HALOWEEN STYLE!!!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLANTS NOT ALLOWED!!!!

Honeymoon Question...

The Lovely Robyn and myself are trying to figure out a cool honeymoon idea. Anyone have any off-beat wacky suggestions. I'm thinking Spain to Tangier, Morrocco. Possibly the oldest rainforest in the word in northern Australia. Then there's also the possibility of some cool small islands off Sri Lanka. Please throw out some suggestions.

hey

morning. we've got a sale today. writing this between telephone bids. work is good. comp. president is in town from edinburough and is very pleased with things. i've made only a few subtle enemies here, but that's they're fault and i don't mind. the sun is shining and it is cool and crisp. i clocked my commute this morning and it's an eight minute walk, which includes strolling through rittenhouse square. everyone hates bush here (the president, not the beer...) there's an old-fashioned guard house in the middle of the square and someone climbed on top and posted bush must go signs. they've been there all week. i've made some friends at work, and am enjoying life. i'm going to see the libertines sunday. should be good. rebel yell whiskey is cheap and tastes like it costs twice as much. hamilton's cucumber gin is cool and delicious. "the dreamers" is a strange movie about cinephiles, paris '68, sex and politics, movies and some hendrix. it's worth seeing, but not with your parents or on a first date. my friend from work met johnny cash and had a conversation with him. she told me this when i was quite drunk and i sat there (he was also singing on the stereo) and really missed him, which is to say that i really miss all of you friends.

and so...

first of all, the trip to mexico was a complete success. it turns out the the resort we stayed in was actually really nice and we had a room that opened right up to the beach and the killer pool area, so there was a lot of laying in the sun drinking a nice blend of sangria type drinks. the drive to ensenada is beautiful, and fortunately we had no run ins with the federales. i am disappointed that i won't be attending the bridge school festivities this year, but sometimes life just isn't what it should be. i will, however, be acting in a short film to be directed by the late and great Kevin wilson. when i say short film, i mean it will actually be on 'film'. there will also actually be the flipping and wrecking of a car out in the desert for this film..other than that i don't know too much about the piece, but watchout Sundance!! in other news, there is still a big birthday bash going on this saturday...i realize the red westerns have a show, but other than that jesse is the only confirmed dude coming out. so, if anyone else is interested please let me know cause we need to have a general count for this place (andrew, are you coming?) and also just spread the word around because i don't have too many emails of people...that's about all for now. i hope to see many of you on saturday night at The Well on Argyle in Hollywood. 9 pm. brent, i understand if you cna't make it. until then~

Speaking of a Bridge

read "Life After God," by douglas coupland.

that's all i got right now. sorry.

TENTS, ANTS, GOOGLE, AND A LOAD!!

Camping could not be had in Big Sur, thus I booked a spot at Sunset State Beach, just up the 1 from Big Sur in nearby Salinas. The new pad has large sand dunes and beautiful coastal pines. I think they must be having that stupid race at Big Sur, which would explain the lack of reservations. We'll still make a stop at Big Sur for some Cheap Red and some solace.

Sorry about the inconvience. I tried my hardest. I would like people to not complain at me as it has become a rather annoying trait among friends when I try and do something nice. I've heard it all before. Save it for your mom.

love,

jesse

And things get a bit better

I'd just like to let everyone know two great pieces of news. First off, Jen put in her two weeks notice at Northwoods and will no longer be dragging through the stress of food service. She got a new job working with a friend of her family's. Secondly, with this new development, we will now officially be going to Bridge School. We're both very excited.

darren and trevor UNCENSORED!!!!!

at last, the official reported account of darren and trevor's trip through the state of minnesota.

apology

i have been anonymously sending tension and anymosity long-distance to the porch in general. sorry, i was bored. i promise i'll stop.

i saw i heart huckabees (which is how they put it on the marquee). it rides the line between disturbing and delightful. very fun combination.

badly drawn boy is playing here soon. i'm thinking about going to the show and dumping coleslaw on his head.

i tried to buy some liquor yesterday and all the wine and spirits shops were closed. i miss the great state of california where you can quench the libatious need whenever and wherever you want.

Red River...

Is a fantastic western featuring John Wayne and Montgomery Cliff. It is directed by Howard Hawks. It very much made up for the two-plus hours wasted watching Brazil. If anyone has the gumption to call John Wayne a subpar actor- they should watch this film, The Searchers, and at least Rio Bravo. Such swagger and grit. Wayne also sports a mullett in the film.

I get the feeling...

There is a lot of tension around the porch. A lot of pent up aggression. Everyone has beef with eachother and I don't like it. Do we need to go to reconciliation chapel?

imagine (he's still living)

today would have marked the 64th birthday of john lennon. so here's a birthday greeting, bottle of wine from us and the bbc.

scientists have visually aged a photograph of lennon to see what he would have looked like on this important day. you can check out the article here. below is the orignal image they started with.

ugh

I hate grooming.
I like sweaters.
i hate it when your jeans are too long and you step on them and ruin the bottoms, getting them all muddy and stuff.
I hate Flavored Party Whiskey (Southern Comfort). barf. After my hijinx of drinking and driving in the wild west, it got me back on the hard A train. more elegantly than the halfway days (or antelope valley days for that matter) of course. I've been craving a good whiskey. any suggestions? Maker's Mark? Is that the ticket?
When's keith getting married?
Are billy and dan engaged yet?
i'm going to cal state long beach in the spring. damn. more school.
maust is coming up soon for the tom waits show. dopeness.

Whoever got into my account on yahoo...

is an idiot. i've recieved a crapload of jumk mail and random phone calls from jerks. please be more considerate and prank me in a less bothersome way.

that's why god made mexico

I am going to Ensenada Mexico this weekend. Never been there. Any recommendations of things to hit up? the pool at the hotel has a swim up bar, so I figure I can excerise and drink at the same time. Xio and I are going. Nothing like Mexico, where the tequila goes down nice and slow. Go donkeys!

nice.

I like robyn's voicemail.

i've declared myself an eagles fan

i love it here more and more. i got an apartment in the city yesterday and have the bulk of moving into it behind me. it's just a ten minute walk from work around some restaurants and bars and a hardware store. i can't say how good it feels to be there. work is going well and i'm settling in. tom waits has a great new album. we've got a birthday party coming up. what could make life better? someone did try to get me down by smashing a window on my car, but it didn't work and i just laughed it off. some people will do anything to get ahead. it's starting to get cold here, but only in small steps so it feels good, so far that is. last week we had the rest of the hurricane come through and anyone who was walking around the city, with or without umbrella got completely soaked through. that included me. everybody was running around kind of half-smiling because it was pretty ridiculous. everybody in their suits just dripping from head to toe. this girl said to me as we waited for a light to change that we might as well go play in the fountain. this is a great city.

I got engaged...

As of about 4:00 Hawaii Ocean Chill Time, the lovely Robyn and myself are engaged. Word homies. That's right, you heard it. I'm not checking phone calls so if you want to get in touch with us you should call Robyn. But, anyhow, that's the good word. Looking forward to Goss' party and the Bridge as well. I am pleasantly in a happy mood, though my lymphnodes are swollen.

fun whaling fact: sperm whales are called sperm whales because the precious oil in their head (spermaceti)- which was like gold in the early 1800s- had the same texture and look of the male product of the same name.

And it's official as well...bday bash

I will be sending out evites, but I don't have everyone's emails, so here are the details for all of you who check this...There will be a joint birthday party for Alan and Xio on October 16th at a place called The Well. It is in Hollywood on Argyle right off of sunset. We are reserving a side room so it should be pretty cool. If you post a comment to this, leave your email address so I can send an evite to you. It is actually a three person party but brent dog will only be there in spirit and connected by being intoxicated by alcohol at the same time out on the east coast. so mfers, you guys better come cause we switched the party date from bridge school weekend to the 16th...peace.

Hey

it's been a while since i've crossed the tracks to see whittier. it's to see that most everyone is still alive. nothing new with me. less than a year left in this program. i've started subbing. i sub tomorrow for a middle school band class. i think i'll bring my guitar and play red west songs. oh wait, i suck at the guitar and i couldn't play a single red west song. anyway, stay alive.

It's official...

I've got mono again and the Dodgers suck. It's so funny how things can sour. Though, having mono in Hawaii means I have to lay around for a week- which is not that different from what I usually do in Hawaii. I've now fallen asleep twice while watching Brazil. I'm becoming less and less enthrawled by Terry Gilliam. Give me Fisher King and Python and take the rest.

I'm also reading a book about the tragedy aboard the whaling ship the Essex. I'm quite the fan of whaling history. The book won the National Book Award a few years back. It's some really interesting stuff. In other good books... This Boy's Life made me blast.

Off to Hawaii, again...

hey folks. i've been in vta since sunday milking a hi-fever and very painful episode of strep throat. feeling a little better with the advent of meds from the doctor. i've decided not to bring any music to hawaii. robyn's aunt and uncle have a great collection of vinyl. look forward to seeing you all when i get back.
