Kevin's Birthday + six toes + The Red Lion

Little known facts about Kevin:
Mr. Kevin Patrick Cassidy was born on March 18, 1981.
My mother only refers to him as Kevinski.
Kevin's parents made sure that his middle was Patrick because he was born the day after St. Patrick's Day and because they love all things Irish!
Kevin's fathers favorite whiskey is a brand called Paddy's that is made only in Ireland.
St. Patrick had six toes on his left foot...so does Kevin!

Come to the RED LION on Friday at 7:30pm to celebrate Kevininski's birthday.
You can drink beer!
Kevin's six-toed left foot will be unveiled promptly at 7:47pm!!

Saturday's Hike

I hear that a few us want to go on this hike tomorrow.

Here are the specifics:

9 mile hike round trip
About 5 hour hike
1000 ft elevation gain
moderate difficulty

Trailhead: From Interstate 10 or the 210 freeway, exit on Azusa and head north 10 miles or so, paralleling the San Gabriel Dam on your right. Turn right on East Fork Road and continue 8 more miles to the East Fork Station, where the road dead ends. Note that if you go around a hairpin 180 degree turn on East Fork Road, you missed the road into the Sheep Mountain Wilderness. The trail head is short distance down an obvious service road. (Lat:34.2372 Lon:-117.76546)

I read that we should allow for plenty of hiking time so I would like to get to the trailhead by 9am. There are also some geocaches along the way. Hopefully the river will not be to swollen as it has not rained in some time. Call me if you plan on coming.

Lent Research

I gave up alcohol for Lent and have been getting along nicely without the usual tasty brews, wines and various adult beverages. Just before the Lent season was upon us, I took to ordering Scotch instead of my usual Guiness just to mix it up a bit. Glenfiddich served neat and The Glenlivet on the rocks were all I had to go on. As the consumption of spirits is at a pause for now, I've been researching various Scotch varieties and would like some input on whether or not to give any of the following a fair chance. Considering the wealth of knowledge of the VP readers, suggestions of personal favorites and prefered tasting method would be appreciated.
Scotch varieties suggested and researched:
Glenmorangie
Springbank
The Macallan
Spencerfield Spirit Co.
1. Sheep Dip
2. Pigs Nose
