sunday, late afternoon

well, all's well that ends well, the artkraft strauss collection was sold thursday for a total of around$100,000, half way between the low and high, highlights included $23000for the coke model, 8000 for the subway s, 7000 for the camel drawing and the biography i. i personally made my first auction purchase, a pair of geometric neons, one argon one neon, blue and red, small and simple. i need neon in my life. now i get calls of people everywhere who has signs. maybe we can do it again. i doubt it. fox news covered the sale. i stick to the best being tv tokyo. they had the best and most unique questions. this auction business is stressful. i knew that before, but it's different when the sale is yours. i personally hardly slept nor ate for a week, persisting purely on sandwiches, beer, wine, vermouth and whisky, coffee and antihistamines. i have alergies now that i live on the east coast. maybe its the ivy that surrounds my apartment walls and darkens my windows. life goes on, i went in yesterday and catalogued porcelain. decorative arts sale in july, catalogue due in two weeks. one of my biggest buyers, who say the article in the nytimes, just moved into richard avedon's apartment and studio. he bought the i, the frog, the train and something else which i can't remember (s?) it's starting to rain now. it was very windy today. bono is a newspaper editor. damien hirst did art on the cover of london's the independent. u2 is working with espn (one campaign) to promote the world cup. who would have thought? u2 has a song (b-side, vertigo australian import) called neon lights. life can spiral around on you sometimes.

now then, i recommend anyone with netflix get episodes of the old tv show called naked city. it stars actors when they were very young, martin sheen, robert duvall kind of thing, and has great exteriors of new york in the 50's. it's crime drama. i'm really enjoying them. cheers to that then
-brent
