The Artkraft Strauss collection is scheduled to be auctioned off on Thursday. Artkraft Strauss created nearly all of Times Squares spectacular signs throughout the 20th century.

"There's no precedent for this sale. The market is untested," said Brent Lewis of Freeman's. "When the gavel falls, we're all interested to see what happens."

Brent Lewis, who is overseeing the sale for Freeman's, said he expected it to fetch at least $100,000, and possibly several times that.
