rocklists.net

a great way to waste a lot of time. this is a fun one. i bought merle haggard's 1st album yesterday. there's so much out there... i was bombarded by so much that i need... everything pavement, diamond dogs, hunky dory, to start with bowie, working man's blues, some eddie arnold and george jones wouldn't kill me, lou reed's berlin is supposed to be good, i don't own andy warhol, the john lennon acoustic outtake album just released sounded real cool, the list could go on and on. i could buy two cds a day for five years i imagine, and not be stumped as to what to buy. it's hard to buy right now because of the immense selection and the lack of funds. one has to be selective. but if you had no qualms about what you're buying money-wise, you could just start knocking off "every album you should have in your collection." nevermind and love supreme. modern lovers and rum, sodomy, and the lash. paul's boutique and electric lady land. lust for life and the temptations greatest hits. it would never end. booooo to not having money. in other news, i'm listening to elvis costello on kcrw. he was interesting in the interview, but the music sucks. nick harcourt is rising on my list of pretentious annoying people who i listen to too much. also on the list- sean hannity, both jamie and danny, heidi, frosty, and frank, and... wait... willie nelson and julio iglesias are singing via my airtune country music station... beautifully over produced latino-country gold. to all the girls i've loved before...

I as well listened to the Elvis Costello this morning, and I'm gonna have to disagree. He sounded a little adult contemporary, but his band was flawless, and he is still ELVIS COSTELLO. When you make an album as good as This Year's Model (let alone five more after it) then your opinion can be counted. Then again, I haven't made an album that good either so....we're both wrong, but Elvis is right. Now, don't be cruel.
