see below

i appreciate the positivity this blog can generate. what a wonderful porch we have.

my sister had her baby, abigail ann hagglund, 6 lbs 12 oz. on tuesday morning. all is well, i'll be visiting home end of july. she's very cute, i've seen pics.

i'm in ny with jacqueline this nice long weekend. no big plans. she's lovely. she also has a french bulldog named cosmo who treats me with the respect i deserve.

now then, i've been speaking to emily and would like to bring up a concern i'm having. she, apparently, has written of the drinking of alcohol, due to a few minor mishaps (that'l happen). however, i have been able to convince her to take up the drinking of alcohol, if several of our friends will come and spend their new year's eve with us on the east coast. in fact, she has agreed to have a shot of tequila for every person that boards a plan for the coming of the new year. sound like an awful amount of effort to undertake just to get emily back on board? listen to the following key arguments, and perhaps you'll change your mind.

1. how much money will you spend in alcohol purchases the few days around new years. enough for a plane ticket? probably. we'll take care of the alcohol (and lodging duh), and you take care of the plane ticket.

2. everybody remember how fun our trip to austin was for the goss' wedding? i do, it was "crazy" fun. i think we did pretty good those few days, all the while missing some of our key players. it's like we had our team, minus some of our strongest, and we still made the semis. i think if we get the whole team together we can take the championship (#1). we are proposing an austin east.

3. many people have said to me, or emily, "i can't wait to visit you on the east coast, that will be so much fun!" we agree

4. alan and xio have already bought their tickets

5. lager

6. rio bravo, the boats, coldwar kids together on one stage

7. snow

8. lager

9. the china bus to new york

10. because you can

11. because you deserve it (if you can't)

12. lager

13. why not?

now that i've made my argument, feel free to consider the plus and minuses and let us know. emily, please comment if i left anything out.

I'm in if I can swing it. Brent, we need to talk more thoroughly about counterfit art/auctions/scandalous ways to make a buck.

What coincidence! L and I have already been talking about this. We plan on flying in to Philly shortly after X-mas and after a few days taking the chinatown flier (booze cwooze) to drink the festive champagne in NYC.

yes, i think new year's eve in the city

we can also (possibly) throw a party at (the lovely) jacqueline's, or perhaps an after/pre party for whatever we decide on doing.

for those possibly going on the cheap, how would accomodations work for new years eve night in NYC?

we have to have a big bash in NYC on new years... i have been making some ny friends out here in Calgary... mainly josh hartnett, and his friend nat who is a teacher at NYU... maybe can arrange something there... if not, arrange something somewhere. if we can all be out in NYC on new years 2007, that would be amazing. maybe a show, absolutely some drink, some frosty air and a sleepless night... sounds like a plan. xio and i plan to fly into philly on thursday and stay there a night, then be in ny for fri night, sat night, and new years eve night... we are staying at the le parker meridian near central park on 57th. for new york we got a room for pretty cheap... if you book now, you can find some decent rates on rooms.

i highly encourage all to partake and get your asses out to the east coast for a grand new years in nyc.

but no times square.

boo.

but it will be a fucking good time.
