dismantling a perfect record
i listened to the entire new u2 album last night. achtung baby has been my favorite album since i was in 5th grade...this new one might be passing achtung baby on the scale. its a smart album, but more than that it is a beautiful album, cohesive and daring. it's just musical...everything works. it is U2. guitars singing and bono wailing. i really can't put it into words, but this album is a beautiful rock album....not as hard as i thought, but hard enough. its not often these days to have an experience while listening to a new album, to not be thinking crtically but really just have an experience. they are streaming the album on mtv.com. check it out...it is best really loud and with some wine to go with it or any drink of choice.

nice post alan. i burned a copy of the new album for sycz a couple of days ago, and i have to agree with you that's its really good. in getting something new from these guys, who have delivered so consistently over the years, its hard not to be a little bit apprehensive. they have done it again though, and its great. there are really some nice stand out tracks on there. i love miracle drug, sometimes you cant make it on your own, and a couple of others. im excited to get that actual album with liner notes in my hand, and just digest it completely. anyway yeah, good stuff.
