Honus Wagner is by far the best shortshop that ever played the game. Hands down.
A-Rod, if he remained a short shop, potentially could have come into the conversation in 6 or 7 years, but he's now a third baseman.
Ripken was good. Kevin Costner doesn't think so, but that's between the two of them.
Arky Vaughan was pretty damn good. especially in '35. He sat out for 3 years after getting in the fight with Leo Durocher? What's up with that? And, His career ended when he drowned while fishing, which is odd.
It also seems to me that Jack Glasscock is a severely underrated player for obvious reasons.
Bill James says that Vaughan is the 2nd best shortshop in baseball history and who am I to argue.
