bloggy,bloggy,bloggy,blog

hello,
last night the boats played a packed green line coffee shop and covered david bowie. it was subtely transcendent. happy easter to all.

yesterday morning i went on a local philadelphia morning show taping. i say taping because i don't know if it was aired. it was very bizaar, i did the couch segment with some neon lights and a light bulb from the times square new years eve ball. the turned it over to the weather man outside with the local scoop. they did the traffic on the green screen. but, alas, there was no coffee. no coffee cups. as close as we got was the coffee table. eerie. i say it was.

my parents visited last week and we went to nyc. everyone should go to nyc with the parents sometime. especially if they've never been there before. it was great. we got there friday night having left after work, and we took the slow train, so we were all very hungry by that time. we went to the hotel in midtown and then i decided we should go down to soho to find a restaraunt. there was no time to dawdle, as many of you know through similar experiences of hungry parents in big, loud cities, but i wanted to take them on the subway right away, but had no time for the scenic tour. we went to the closest station, 42nd st. grand central which is one of the biggest, sprawled stations, in which you can spend five minutes walking down stairs across ramps up stairs down long hallways around corners down more steps etc. before finding the platform. we did this all very quickly, me checking over my shoulder to see that my folks were still tracking. they did and we walked right onto a train and i looked at them and they new they were in the city of cities. (new york is again a great city in my mind) it was a really cool weekend aside from the short hailstorm saturday afternoon.

a long time coming: i finished the catalogue for the artkraft strauss collection of signs and related material and its at the printers and it's more of less pink and very spicy. i feel good about it and secretly think the sale might even make money.

it is spring in the city and the people are out. the first signs of spring in a city like this bring people out in droves, walking with the heads up, sitting on the lawns, standing on the corners, enjoying themselves, enjoying life, enjoying a city that for the last several months has plagued them with coldness, rain, snow, sleet, wind and general malaise. joy has a way of filling the general consciousness sometimes as if it is passed through the air by glances in passing, as if it floats around the heads of the people experiencing it. philadelphia can be a wonderful place to live if you are fortunate as i am.

i leave you with this thought. we are doing a proposal to get a big estate in beverly hills that would, most likely, send me west to inventory it. my fingers are crossed.

take care all-b
