Memorial Weekend

Say yes if you want a camp, so we can get a head count. Probably San Diegy or at the bottom of the ocean like Dennis Wilson.

Surreal

This clip is ultra-surreal?

"How surreal is it?" you ask.

It's so surreal that the fact that there are two wheelchair-ridden comedians performing the Proclaimer's "I Would (Roll) 500 Miles" is the least surreal thing about it.

Saturday!!

For those of you who may not know, the baseball draft is going on. To compliment the fun, we'll be cooking some corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes. If anyone else wants to, or can, cook a corned beef in the crock pot and bring it over, please do.

seeing as it's st. patty's day- even if you're not the baseball type- stop by and hang out! robyn wanted me to remind girls that girls are invited to partake in the party as well.

draft starts at 7:00
st. pattyness starts whenever.

in an attempt to make this not suck

I should be writing right now. But so should the other 5 people in my group. The sent me there shitty attempts at an arguement, and now I must turn there nonesense into a wonderworks of aggression against Guantanamo. Group Papers! That is the dumbest idea there ever was in all of the worlds! I've been complimented on my writing a couple times and so now I fear i'm becoming cocky. I am fucking awesome!

and so begins my downfall.

in other news, Lady K and I have made our yearly transition into a new apartment. I am currently sitting at our desk overlooking 3rd st drinking a gin and sprite zero, I call it a gin-z.

Bourne Identity is currently on. I think i've mention this movie once before in a moment of procrastination. They are currently filming the 3rd movie. Last sunday while I was at j's house, I over heard j and mouse talking of the new fantastic four movie, which in turn, led me to a search on Doug Jones. He's famous and I've met him a few times and that makes my existence feel somehow valid, so I look him up and feel my heart grow good. But, that could be the gin-z.

new birth- re birth- of a nation.

so it seems that the blog might be on an upturn-- maybe coming back around to a place of substantial commenting. then again maybe not....

so here are a few things...

Darren: our address for another 5 weeks is
2048 Fox Hills Dr
Los Angeles, CA 90025

And after April 6th it is:
1509 Piedmont Ave
Austin, TX 78757

if you didn't know, Xio and I also are proud new homeowners (congrats Andy and Dana), and at the current time we are also landlords of said home. We are planning on moving out of this great state- to another state that has a great city- on April 14th.

And with that said... on March 18th, the day after St. Patty's, we are having a casual get together at our current address. We sent out evites, but I'm sure left off some emails. So it's around 4 pm on that Sunday... casual BBQ and drinks-- hanging out in the nice California weather. So come out, be merry, hang out--- not officially a goodbye, but the best weekend to have a gathering of sorts.

On another note-- I would love to hear what everyone is currently enjoying listening to. I feel a bit dead in the music area right now. There's just a lot going on and I can't seem to give myself the luxury of exploring and finding some good new albums... so any thoughts and comments of the nature would be most helpful.

Is Drew a dad yet?

The poker game-- I think it is a great idea. Anyone else?

until next time.

hello again

Hi. I finally switched over to the new version of this thing so I will write now. Life has been good. Japan was amazing- here are some highlights in no particular order:
Ice-skating in my sneakers on a frozen pond in Sapporo in the middle of a snowy park.
Eating raw chicken, wich was in fact quite good
Mister Donut
Bullet Trains around the country
hot green tea vending machines on every corner
Shochu (ambrosia of the gods)
going bowling in Nagoya, where the bowling balls bear the face of hello kitty
the Asahi Brewery tour (strangely, children were allowed on the tour and into the tasting room)
The Hiroshima Peace Museum
playing music in amazing clubs every night...

mainly it was fun just travelling around with a lot of fun people in a great country. that's all i have to say about that for right now.

In other news, Dana and I are moving to Highland Park ( I guess Darren and Sycz moving away and us moving there keeps the anglo-ratio balanced properly). We got a real trasher house with a ton of potential. It's a 2 bedroom house with a double garage, a studio upstairs, and a quaint backyard. It's basically down to the studs right now so needs new everything. It's fun but stressful- forcing me to learn and apply everything from window installation to tiling the entire bathroom and kitchen. The bedroom and bathroom need to be done in a month which is when we move in. So, it's been keeping me quite busy- all that and trying to finish up Tim's album and rehearsing for shows. I leave again for Australia in a month, then back to Japan for May- I am excited though because Dana will get to go this time. Well, that's about all. I hope you are all doing well
Compai!

Poker Night

I was talking with Trevor the other night and we're both itching for some poker. Anybody have a table? We can do it at Trev's house. Or that's unless y'all want to come over my parent's house and my mom can cook some chicken adobo.

Comment if you're down.
