Talk Sex With Sue Johansen...

Is the greatest television show in history. She just had a woman call in and tell the seventy year old host that her sexual partner likes her to dress up in "chicken and turkey costumes."

Best. Show. Ever.

i saw the magic numbers last night. they were so charming and fun and good. i bought their album today and am listening to it. it's good so far. i'm relaxing today. i watched bukowski, born into this, which i had seen in la when it came out and it took months on netflix, but i saw it again and i liked it too.

the thing i like about this city is that sometimes it's really easy. i just walk a block or to and i'm where i need to be...that of course is also about where i live, but it's just a nice place that i really love sometimes. sometimes it's very very beautiful. the trees are blooming.

i'm working with a department and our sale was thurday/friday. very cool. it was great. total: $1.6 million. there were a few surprises such as an 18th century bronze figure of Guanyin seated on a recumbent elephant that ended up selling for $85000. we also sold a pair of Regency bookcases for $54000 (see our website www.freemansauction.com). it was our best english and continental sale ever.

i hope everybody is doing good i don't have anything else to say.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone = Awesome

Like their show, the movies highlight both the pair's willingness to slaughter any and all sacred cows, and their seemingly libertarian politics, skewering both left and right. "People say, 'You rip on both sides and don't take a stand!' But that is our stance!" says Parker. "To me, comedy is a point of view. It's OK to take the middle ground."

And, of course, pissing people off remains the pair's top priority. "We've always been fuck-the-system punks," says Stone. "And the only way to be punk anymore is to go into a party and say, 'George Bush fucking rules!'"

21 versus 21

I found this video titled 21 on YouTube last night. It reminded me of a hit song of the same name by a band we all know.

I wondered to myself what they would look like melded together in a 21-themed battle royale.

Now I don't wonder anymore.

The Last Nine Innings: Inside the Real Game Fans Never See

From Publishers Weekly

Ted Williams, who made baseball look easy, once remarked that it is actually the hardest game to play. Euchner shows just how difficult and complex this "kids' game" is, marshalling an impressive array of interviews with players, coaches, managers, umpires, former players, statisticians and broadcasters to describe the inner workings of the national pastime and the changing ways insiders and outsiders approach the game. He presents all of this via game seven of the 2001 World Series, an emotional contest played against the backdrop of 9/11 in which the Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the New York Yankees. Each play of this game provides a jumping-off point for a discussion of some aspect of 21st-century baseball: the thought processes that guide a pitcher as he decides what to throw, the split-second calculations that fielders make to track batted balls, or the thinking of the managers as the contest unfolds. Unfortunately, Euchner's approach makes the book read like a series of digressions, and the drama of the World Series game dissipates amid the author's extended ruminations and interviews (it takes three pages for the first pitch to reach the plate). Nevertheless, readers will come away from this book with a good overview of the trends driving the game today and renewed appreciation for just how tough a game baseball is.

Oh yeah, O'Brien and I went to this game. Jesse was planning to, but he decided to study instead.

I recommend...

I haven't been digging a lot of new music lately... yesterday I bought Belle and Sebastian's "The Life Pursuit", and it's FANTASTIC. If you haven't bought anything in a while- treat yourself to this gem, it's more enjoyable than a fresh bunch of parsley!

Hey Friends

First of all, I very happy belated birthday to Matt. I wish you all the best until next year, at which point I'll have to renew my wish.

Second, I'd like all you guys to send me your addresses along with your birthdays. Noone is excluded from this. If you post on the porch, then I want your address and birthday. (* I however, am prohibited by the Ukrainian government from sending alcohol.) Please send it to matt.miller@biola.edu. I don't know if posting it on here will get it spammed, but I don't care with that address.

Third, is there any chance I could get the latests releases sent to Ukraine? I'll make it up to whoever will do this favor for me.

I miss you guys and think about you often.
