We, being the band of Westerners Red, are playing at the Key Club. I believe it's $5 so if you happen to be in the area, we're on at 9:30. Love to see all of you or even one of you there. We're playing in the VIP room, not the main stage tonight.

UFO Siting Tonight on ABC

The first U.S. report of an Unidentified Flying Object come from Washington state. A disc was seen hovering around Mt. Raineer. Tonight, ABC is uncovering the truth that the U.S. govt., George Bush, and other oil rich republicans don't want us to know: UFO's really do exist. The presence is very real and it is happening all the time.

George Noory and Art Bell have been talking about this for weeks. They say it is the first time mainstream media is taking the subject seriously. If only they would take the Elvis sitings more seriously. Do watch it.

PS: I just heard Red West's new song on KCRW. Well done.

'iNetwork' to Launch as First Digital General
Entertainment Channel For Youth Targeting Women 18-24
Wednesday June 4, 7:55 pm ET
1st Quarter 2004 Launch on Digital Cable/Satellite a
First

CAMARILLO, Calif., June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- "iNetwork,"
the first general entertainment channel for youth
targeting young women 18-24, is set to launch in 1st
Quarter 2004, it was announced today by David
Armstrong, president of iNetwork.

With a combination of original programming, movies,
and popular series, iNetwork will create a strong,
simple and clearly understood position that addresses
and appeals to the core audience of women 18-24.
Advertisers seek this demographic in part because it
is one of the highest users of new technology.
Designed for an audience underserved by traditional
cable networks, iNetwork's programming concept will
encourage additional digital set-tops in the home,
providing the operator a broader platform for
launching new services.

iNetwork is creating a community in which its Internet
web site -- iSite.tv -- plays a significant role.
iSite.tv launches in mid-June, 2003 and will establish
an active community prior to iNetwork's launch.

"iNetwork recognizes that our core audience seeks
community with its peers," according to Armstrong. "We
will build identity and loyalty with our audience
through the website, by originating shows in local
markets, and providing co-promotional activities to
benefit cable operators and advertisers."

The CEO of iEntertainment, parent company of iNetwork,
is John J. Lee, Jr., the author of The Producer's
Business Handbook and CEO of Entertainment Business
Group, a consulting firm specializing in the financing
and global distribution needs of its independent
producers and other media clients.

"This segment of the market cries out for programs
that are challenging, exciting, and alive," says Lee.
"iNetwork will be edgy enough to provide a stimulating
environment that appeals to more than the lowest
common denominator."

"Cable and satellite networks that appeal to youth
have pushed the boundaries of Standards & Practices in
an effort to draw bigger audiences," adds Lee.
"iNetwork's environment delivers youth their first
live national community. By enabling American youth
with resources and communication power, they will
receive a cable television network and programming
with which they will substantially redefine reality
programming and audience connectivity. We then
anticipate an expanded vision and interactivity in
their lives with both their peer groups and the world
at large."

iNetwork anticipates reaching 10 million homes within
its first year on cable and satellite.

"We're fortunate in the current environment to have
capital for start-up. It's helped in providing
research, the acquisition of programming, creation of
original programming, and the development of our
network identification" adds Armstrong. "We're
optimistic about the cable and satellite business and
the industry in general."

David Armstrong takes the helm of iNetwork following a
three year stint as senior vice president of
International Television Distribution for MGM
Worldwide Television Group. No stranger to the world
of television start-ups, he previously created Vestron
Television, Vestron's domestic television division.
Armstrong was also instrumental in the overseas launch
of the Sci-Fi Channel for USA Networks International
as head of programming and acquisition.

iNetwork will be participating at this year's NCTA --
The National Show, June 8-11 in Chicago, Illinois.
"We're looking forward to meeting with cable and
satellite operators as well as program suppliers and
advertisers at this year's show," reports Armstrong.

iNetwork and iEntertainment corporate headquarters are
located in Camarillo, California.

The Polyphonic Spree played with Jon Brion last night at the Hnery Fonda. The show was amazing. Jon Brion did his thing where he records all the parts for the song, but man oh man did the Polyphonic Spree rock. The downside is that my parents and I had to leave a little early, because they had to fly out this morning. I think I have my best show of 2005 already.

howdy folks,
what's new. i went to new york this weekend. i went to sotheby's and christies to check out some exhibitions. sotheby's is selling property from the kennedy's homes around new england. you can get a desk owned by jfk and (cross your fingers) find a secret note to marylin inside. somebody put up orange flags all over central park. big orange flags. all over the whole damn park. for miles and miles orange flags. owen wilson was there. he's a flag lover. everywhere you look, bare trees and orange flags. apparently, the homeless of central park got together and have created their own nation, the territory marked by lots and lots of their orange flags. i think it'll be a state or something, and probably one of those states you can drink and drive in. and owen wilson is the president.

The Saint

No, not the Val Kilmer/Elizabeth Shue thriller; and no not a member of the football organization either. I'm talking about that crazy Saint Valentine. This page gives us yet another explanation of how the church took a pagan holiday under its wing with a little facelift.

This, however, is simply an interesting history discussion and shouldn't deter us from showing love on this day, though some people think otherwise.

For those of you without a valentine, don't fret, you're free to roam.

So, being that we imbibe on a regular basis, I'm sure that there must be a wealth of knowledge on how to end a hangover. As I am writing this, my head feels like it is going to explode and my stomach is doing sumersaults approximately every five minutes. Here's what I have done so far today.
Ate about 3 bites of ceral.
Drank half a cup of tea.
Walked around the neighborhood for some fresh air.
Smoked a cigarette.
Threw up behind a convenience store.
Drank a vitamin water.
Walked back home and slept for 3-4 hours.
Woke up and went to get coffee.
Walked around Hollywood drinking coffee, smoking a cigarette.
Came home and ate some garlic fries and drank a glass of water.
Throughout the day I have taken several Tylenol. I can't find my Vicodin, so Tylenol will have to suffice.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Some poeple are serious betters. Some poeple are not. Jesse Gloyd is kind of a serious better. He once ate nothing but cookies for a week. He once poured spaghetti down his pants. He has been naked on numerous occasions. However, he has also promised (and I quote) "If Buffalo Springfield doesn't reunite at Bridge School this year I'll cut off my penis." Jesse Gloyd, meet your superior. Geoff Huish is a serious better.

Public interest vs. Private bullshit

Whilst searching the internet for the beautiful and bizzare, I came upon an article about the lovely town of Chicago and their brand spanking new $270,000,000 park. Apparently those in charge of parks and recreation got confused about how the use of public funds works. One of the main attractions of this fancy-pants new park (I'll take Echo Park any day) is a ginormous sculpture by an artist named Anish Kapoor. Now, although this park is funded by Chicagoan's tax dollars and this particular sculpture (I later found out) was given as a gift by SBC, it is somehow illegal to photograph this statue. This particular public work, donated by a private company, has been copyrighted so as to prevent any duplication of it's image for any purpose whatsoever. So while people are paying for it to be maintained, they are not allowed to remember their time spent viewing it with a simple snapshot. I'm sure that you're thinking "Eff that. I would just take the effing picture." The ridiculous part of this story is that Chicago is now spending people's tax money again to police those dissenting citizens that dare to keep a record of their trip to the park.
Check out this link http://flickr.com/photos/search/tags:cloud+gate/tagmode:any/ to some bootlegged pictures of the statue and see if you can explain how anyone could prove that a person is taking a picture of this statue and not, say, the sky. It's huge.

Highlights of my week...hanging out with Linda Hamilton, supermom from the Terminator movies.

Upset of the week: Not being able to purchase U2 tickets. Angry? a little. Sad? yes. Consoled by LArry Mullen's apology letter on U2.com...yes a little. I'm just a guy, wanting to see a band play a few songs. Fuck all of the scalpers who have tickets. Two words for all of them..Run and hide. Run and hide. Good will triumph in the end, and they will pay for their sins. Vengence is mine, sayeth the Lord. (and we all know God is a huge U2 fan.)

Event to look forward to of the week: Keith and Karen's wedding. Rock on. See everyone there.

Prayer Request

In about two and a half weeks I'm going down to Tijuana, Mexico, for
four days. I'll be with a group from my church in which we will be building a couple of homes for two needy families.I wanted to let you guys know about it so that you could pray for the families there, our team, and for money that I need to raise.

I heard about this trip about three weeks before Christmas during a
Sunday service. I really felt the urge to look into the trip but was
hesitant to sign on because it would cost $350. So when I was staying
with my parents during the Christmas, I asked God that if He wanted me
to go on the trip, He would make it possible financially for me. All I
needed was a $50 deposite to sign up. Yet I didn't have that much in
my bank account. The next morning, my father asked me what I wanted
for Christmas and as usual I said "I don't know." He then threw a
fifty dollar bill at me and said, "Then take this." At that point I
knew I was suppose to go.

Again, please pray.

Greetings from Hanford. Posted by Hello

items

1) who the fuck changed the name of the porch?

2) for those of you who would like to see an art opening tonight, alison owen (best known in her role of baby mac's mom) is having her graduate show tonight in claremont. it's at the same gallery as the one amanda had her show at. it starts at seven and includes free food, free drinks, and very good art. if you are coming from whittier/long beach, take the 605N to the 210E, exit on Towne, go right, make a left on Foothill, right on Dartmouth, and a left on 10th. park on the street. you will see the party.

3) i saw the life aquatic. i believe i heard a rumor that mr. bethanmacourt had said it was w. andersen's worst movie. i agree. the movie itself wasn't all that bad (a visual treat!) but it was no rushmore, and not even close to the tennenbaums.

4) whoever changed the name of the porch, change it back, or we will have an intervention on your ass come bible study time.

The virtual what?

Change the name back. Crunk? That's fucking stupid shit.

Hello friends.

I haven't seen you guys for some time. Lot's has happened I assume. Keith kicked some cancer ass, people got engaged, people got married... any babies yet? I'm looking forward seeing you all.

Didn't have much else to say except that I suggest that the next time you visit Amoeba, you purchase cd's from the Brittish band after my own heart, Grand National (be sure not to get the american one).

Hope you are all doing well,
-Trev
